Cobrain was born inside OverPress Media, an agency in Rome that works with several AIs every day. Before it became a product it solved a problem of ours: giving people and AIs one context, kept current and reusable.
Where it comes from
Dozens of clients, several AIs, and the same context to explain again in every new conversation.
In the agency we work with Claude, with ChatGPT, with Claude Code in the terminal. Each has its own context: the client, their decisions, their constraints, the name of their accountant. And every time, in every new conversation, all that context had to be explained again. Worse: the colleague on the same client had their own, and neither of us passed it to the other.
For a while we kept everything in an Obsidian vault. It worked, but the AIs could not read it, and whatever one of them wrote stayed shut inside a chat. So we built the missing piece: a memory in Markdown, in real folders, that any AI speaking MCP can read and write, and that can be shared one branch at a time.
We are the first proof: below is the brain we actually use, with the clients anonymised and one real note.
How we think about it
Three choices that will not change.
They are your files
Plain Markdown, always, even when you write in the block editor. Folders you rearrange as you like. You export everything whenever you please, and what comes out opens with Obsidian, with a text editor, with anything. If one day you stop using Cobrain, there is nothing to convert.
Your AI cannot do more than you
Permissions are not applied by the application: they are applied by the database, on the same rule for the site and for the AIs. A branch you have not shared cannot be reached, by anyone. The data sits in Europe, in Ireland.
Free for people working alone
The free plan does not expire: it is there to genuinely build and use your brain. Pro comes in when you share the work; whoever receives a branch never pays.
